Organise photos and files: which AI agent to use
Researched, hands-on test pending
Our top pick: Google Photos (Ask Photos). This write-up is based on research from public sources; we haven't tested it hands-on yet and will update this page when we do. Prices were checked on 31 October 2026 and can change.
Top pick: Google Photos with Ask Photos
- Official site: photos.google.com
- What it does: Search your library in plain English ('the beach in Tenby with the dog') and edit photos by asking.
- Rough UK price: Free app; storage beyond 15 GB costs extra (Google AI plans include storage)
- Free tier: Yes.
- UK caveats: Rolling out gradually to eligible UK Android users from June 2026, and not yet on iPhone in the UK. It needs Face Groups and location estimates switched on.
- Don't use it if you are: iPhone users, and anyone uneasy about face recognition.
Alternative: OneDrive with Copilot (Microsoft 365 Personal)
- Official site: www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/onedrive/onedrive-plans-and-pricing
- What it does: 1 TB of storage, with Copilot available in OneDrive to find and summarise files.
- Rough UK price: £8.49/month or £84.99/year
- Free tier: OneDrive has a small free tier; Copilot features need a paid plan.
- UK caveats: AI is for the account owner only.
- Don't use it if you are: People already paying for iCloud or Google storage.
